Windsor - posted Apr, 19 2013

WINDSOR - On Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at Windsor Historical Society, experience the richness and astonishing beauty of African culture through dance, music, storytelling, and art which has flowed from Africa toward the Caribbean and the United States for centuries. Costumed musicians and performers from Hartford’s Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium will take audience members on a journey through the African Diaspora, starting in Africa to honor the ancestors who came from there. Audience members will be incorporated into the performance. Cost for the program is $6 for adults; $5 for seniors and students; and $4 for WHS members. This performance is supported by a Connecticut Humanities grant for Civil War programming. This is a re-scheduled performance from February. For more information, call 860-688-3813 or visit
