ENFIELD - Baby Steps, the annual Family Walk for Life, will take place on Saturday, April 27 on Raffia Road, near Raffia Plaza, in Enfield. The walk is approximately two miles. Sponsored by First Way Life Center, 237 Hazard Avenue, Enfield, proceeds will be used for free services for pregnant women who need help. Registration and the walk will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will be free tee-shirts; balloons; ice cream; and prizes for top donors, as well as for walkers who get the top donors. Children under 12 must walk with an adult. Parental signatures are required for children under 18. Community Service Awards are available for students, scouts and others. The Walk Committee suggests that walkers find sponsors; then, collect a donation from the sponsor for each mile to be walked. On the day of the walk, each participant will turn in the donations and the registration form. Checks to be made out to: First Way Life Center, Inc. Prizes for the most donations collected by a walker under eighteen are: $100 and $50 gift certificates and movie tickets; top adult prize is dinner for two. First Way Life Center has been in the Enfield area for the past thirty-six years providing free services for pregnant women such as counseling, testing, maternity clothes, baby equipment, shelter homes and medical, legal and financial aid.
