WINDSOR LOCKS - You still have time to donate to the 1st annual Fill The Shelves For Summer food drive to benefit the Windsor Locks FoodShelf which is being held throughout the month of April. Windsor Locks Girl Scout Troop #10589 is working on their Silver Award; they want to fill the Windsor Locks FoodShelf for the summer months. The Girl Scouts are collecting non-perishable food items. There is increased demand on the FoodShelf during the summer months as the kids are home and hungry. Help our neighbors in need. All food items are welcome. The FoodShelf is in special need of: cereal canned soups; peanut butter and jelly; canned fruits; beef stew; canned vegetables; canned meats like tuna, chicken, turkey, ham; macaroni and cheese; canned pastas; rice and beans; juice boxes; and grocery store gift cards. Please check the expiration dates when making a donation. Look for the brightly decorated collection boxes at the following locations in Windsor Locks: Windsor Locks Public Library, 28 Main Street; Windsor Locks Senior Center, 41 Oak Street; Windsor Locks Town Hall – Social Services Office, 50 Church Street; and Windsor Locks Congregational Church on Sunday mornings, 8 Main Street.
