ASHFORD - The Ashford Farmers Market will begin its seventh season earlier than ever. The market will be in the same space on Route 44 next to the old post office and will run every Sunday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. For the first Sunday, May 19, the Farmers Market will be across the street at Knowlton Hall parking lot. Many of the vendors are back. Beth Supina will continue as market master for her third season. Come for fresh produce and meet your local farmers. There are many benefits when you shop at the Ashford Farmers Market. You get very fresh produce, plus you can talk with the farmer and ask questions about how the items are grown and suggestions on how to prepare various vegetables. There is room available if you are thinking of planting a few extra seeds and want to take the plunge. Contact Bruce Kittredge from Birdsong Farm if you are a new farmer to get off to a good start. Bruce Kittredge can be reached at BirdSongFarm@hotmail.com. Market master Beth Supina can be reached at 869-324-9587.
