MANCHESTER – Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) proudly announces that eight of its nurses received the prestigious Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. The Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing, Connecticut’s largest annual statewide nursing recognition program, celebrates outstanding professionals in the field of nursing in different regions in the state. The goals of this program are to encourage retention, inspire future nurses and raise awareness of the importance and scope of the practice of nursing at the local level. Award winners are nominated by their coworkers and physician colleagues for the unique ways they demonstrate excellence in nursing, for having a positive impact on the wider community, and for conveying a positive image of nursing. Congratulations to ECHN’s 2013 Nightingale award recipients: Kristen Allevo, RN, CNOR; Donna Cameron, RN; Debbie Colozzi, RN-BC; Sue Cote, LPN; Denise Kessler-Fogil, RN, CIC; Alison Lentocha, RN; Lisa Pajot, RN; and Linda Quirici, RN, CCRN.
