SOUTH WINDSOR - The South Windsor Food Alliance is pleased to announce its first annual Plant Sale for Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The plant sale will be held on the grounds of the Community, 150 Nevers Road, South Windsor. The first 250 children will receive a been seedling to grow at home. Vendors include local farmers, Futtner Family Farms, Burke Ridge Farms and an Organic Farm Colgan Farm. There will be food, fun and plants. The plants available are Memorial Day planters, annuals, vegetables, hanging plants and herbs. The South Windsor Farmer’s Market group will have hosta; Siberian iris; day lilies; and unique heirloom tomatoes including Goldman’s Italian-American, black cherry and various cluster tomatoes. Plant-a-carrots will be for sale. The Red Cabin will be selling breakfast and lunch. Yoga Born is partnering with their Stretch and Stroll. The South Windsor Farmers Market will be held at the same location June 29 through Oct. 12, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., next to boundless playground at the Community Center.
