Shad derby parking information

WINDSOR - A parking ban will be in effect from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, due to the Shad Derby Parade and Festival and the Shad Derby Road Race in the town of Windsor. The road race is at 10 a.m. and the parade detour route will begin at 11 a.m. through approximately 1:30 p.m. The ban will restrict parking: No parking on both sides of the streets for: Mechanics St.; Batcheldor Road; Bloomfield Ave. to Parkwood Drive; Broad St.; Capen St. from Sage Park Road to Rte 159; Constitution Square; Filley St. from Welch to Preston St.; Spring St.; Welch Ave.; Island Road; Preston St. north of Olin St.; Maple Ave. from Broad St. to Welch Ave.; Palisado Ave. to BARTS; Lennox Ave. except in front of Wash. Park; Union St.; Mack St.; Prospect St., from corner of Route 75 to rear drive of Pizza Center; Sycamore St.; Remington Road from Preston St. to Route 159; and Central St. No parking on north side of: Olin St.; Hayden Court; Kellogg St.; Elm St.; Phelps St.; Green St.; Stinson Place; and Filley St. (Welch to Lennox) . No parking on south side of: Ridgewood Road; Remington Road from Preston to Crest Drive; and Maple Ave. from Welch Ave. to Lennox. No parking on east side of: Preston St. South of Olin St.; Elm Court; Hayden Ave.; Loomis Ave.; and Sycamore Cir. No parking on west side of: Prospect St.; Court St. and Crest Drive. During the festival, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the following streets will be closed to traffic: Broad St. from Sycamore St. north to Poquonock Ave.; Elm St.; Maple Ave.; Mechanic St.; and Batchelder Road. Vehicles found in No Parking zones will be ticketed and towed. There will be shuttle buses available from the Windsor High School to Windsor Center. The shuttle will pick up/drop off at Sycamore St. Windsor police encourage all attendees use these facilities. Handicap parking will be located in lot on Maple St. (parking of Nat Hayden’s) located on the corner of Maple Ave. and Broad St.
