Franklin - posted May, 13 2013

FRANKLIN - Tour the 19th-century home and medical office of Dr. Ashbel Woodward, a Civil War medic, Franklin physician, author and historian, whose landmark home is now Franklin's public museum. A Civil War encampment will be re-enacting battles on the museum grounds, and there will also be an exhibit on President Abraham Lincoln, biographies of Franklin soldiers, concessions, and so much more. The museum is located at 387 Route 32 in Franklin, but access and parking are via Plains Road, using the same driveway as that of the Connecticut Wildlife Management Agency. Ashbel Woodward Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 18; rain date is May 19.
