Memorial Day service

THOMPSON- Veterans' graves will be decorated on Saturday, May 18. On Monday, May 27, at 8:45 a.m. sharp, the veterans of all wars, members of the American Legion, VFW, all auxiliary members, Gold Star mothers, servicemen and women, Boy Scouts,. Girl Scouts, firefighters, patriotic societies, and school children are invited to meet at the town office buuilding in North Grosvenordale. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., from the town office building, and proceed to the Main St. bridge, where a salute will be given for those buried at sea. The march will resume to St. Joseph Cemetery around the Worl War I monument to Oscar Swanson Park. The column will be lined up at the park where a service for the deceased veterans will be held. The column will then proceed to the Lutheran Cemetery and the town office building for dismissal. The VFW will then proceed ot the following cemeteries: West Thompson, East Thompson, Porter Plains, Wilsonville, and Fabyan.
