Memorial Day service

EAST WINDSOR- The Melrose 4-H Clubs and the Melrose School Preservation Committee will hold a Memorial Day service at the Melrose Cemetery on Sunday, May 26, A parade will form at the old schoolhouse on Melrose Road at 2:30 p.m. and will walk to the cemetery, where a short ceremony will be held and children will palce flowers on the graves of veterans. Carried inthe parade will be an old American flag, with 45 stars. This flag used to hang over the intersection of Broad Brook and Melrose Roads on Memorial Day in the early 1900s. There will be refreshments at the school after the service. The public is invited.
