Phone book disposal

Enfield - posted May, 14 2013

ENFIELD – Town of Enfield residents can now dispose of old phone books in their blue tipper barrels as part of single stream recycling. Every ton of phone books recycled via the blue tipper barrels saves the Town over $80. Recycling saves taxpayers money. Plastic bags interfere with the recycling equipment and should not be placed in the blue tipper barrel. Grocery bags, newspaper sleeves, paper towel/toilet paper over wrap, produce bags, dry cleaning bags, zip lock bags, bread and cereal bags can be brought to local grocery stores to be recycled. Plastic recycling bins are located at entrances of the grocery stores. For a complete list of items allowed in the blue tipper barrel, visit the DPW’s Town of Enfield website at
