Summer golf league

Glastonbury - posted May, 14 2013

GLASTONBURY - The Glastonbury Senior Center is forming a summer golf league on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at the Minnechaug Golf Course. The league will run for 8 weeks from June 11 to July 30; there will be a season finale party with prizes on July 30 at the conclusion of play. The cost is $85 for walkers and $125 for those who want to rent a golf cart. A pre-season orientation and team selection meeting will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 9 a.m. at the golf course. The course has nine holes. The league will use a scramble format where each player tees off and the team collectively will decide the best ball to play everyone will hit from there. This process is repeated until the ball is holed. It is a very simple and fun way to enjoy the game of golf. There is very little pressure on the individual player. No experience is necessary and lessons at a very low rate are available for those who are new to the game or need/want a refresher in the game’s basics. Do something good for yourself and join the league.
