Touch a truck

GLASTONBURY - On Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Exchange Club of Glastonbury will hold its third annual Touch A Truck event. There will be more than 25 pieces of equipment on display. This event is designed to appeal to younger children or any one who has an urge to touch a tractor trailer, a dump truck, construction equipment, fire trucks, emergency responders, tow trucks, utility trucks, national guard equipment, even an antique hearse. Children of all ages can honk the horns and creatively explore the equipment with guidance from the owners and professionals. The kids will be able to safely get behind the wheel of the equipment with some of their local heroes and professionals. Rain date is Sunday June 2, 1 to 5p.m. There will be food vendors available for everyone to enjoy. The event will be held at Smith Middle School parking lot at 216 Addison Road in Glastonbury. The cost if $5 per person; $15 for a family of four. All proceeds will be used to benefit the Glastonbury community and the National Exchange Clubs Kids-Safe child abuse prevention program.
