Students receive dictionaries

Putnam - posted May, 21 2013

PUTNAM- Members of Putnam Elks Lodge #574 recently distributed dictionaries to Putnam Middle School 8th graders as a graduation gift. The students will participate in a "Dictionary Challenge" in each class for one full school day before their "Moving Up" Ceremony on June 19. The Lodge will sponsor a pizza party for the winners and Putnam Middle School Principal Teri Bruce announced that the winning homeroom will receive extra outside privileges, as well. Funds for the dictionaries were obtained from a Gratitude Grant through the Elks National Foundation. Gratitude Grants offer opportunities for Elks to serve their community and are typically used to support local, charitable activities.
