Yellow Dot program

East Haddam - posted May, 21 2013

EAST HADDAM- The East Haddam Commission on Aging is interested in establishing a new program called the Yellow Dot Program, to benefit town residents. This free service is sponsored by People's Bank and supported by the Emergency Management Services and the Board of Selectmen. The Yellow Dot Program provides the emergency responders with a person's identification and vital health information if they are involved in an automobile accident. Registration requires that residents fill out an information packet containing identification and medical information and a recent photo of themselves. This information will be placed in the glove compartment of the automobile. The residents will receive a yellow dot to be placed in the rear window of the car on the driver's side. This will alert the first responders that vital information is available to help them care for the resident. A meeting will be held at the East Haddam Senior Center, 15 Great Hillwood Road on Monday, June 10 at 1 p.m. A representative from People's Bank will explain the program and applications and photos will be available for all who wish to participate in this beneficial program.
