Summer fun at the library

ANDOVER- The Andover Public Library summer reading program kick-off party will be June 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. Guest entertainer, is “Mr. Magic”. This is a free program after which we will be signing readers up for the summer reading challenge and handing out door prizes and snacks. Richard Rothstein is an attorney by day but has been performing magic shows, too, for more than 35 years. Tye-Dyed T-Shirts: Saturday, June 29: 10-11 or 11:30-12:30 your choice of times. We will be using a new, less messy technique for tie dying, with Sharpie brand markers. You should bring a pre-washed cotton t-shirt and a clothes hanger for the ride home. We’ll provide the rest of the materials. Dress appropriately as this is a messy affair, meaning “Don’t wear something you cannot get paint on! “ We have room for 10 each session, ages 7 -100. You must register for this workshop. Stop by the circulation desk to register. Horizons Wings: June 29, 6 p.m.: HORIZON WINGS and their feathered ambassadors: What do the classifications “threatened” and “endangered” really mean? You’ll meet two American kestrels, a barn owl, and a peregrine falcon. Ever wish you could experience the thrill of being up close to a magnificent eagle, hawk, falcon, or owl?
