ENFIELD - Enfield Public Library’s Summer Reading Kickoff will be held on Wednesday, June 26, featuring a special Meet the Author event at 7 p.m. with journalist and author, Denis Horgan. West Hartford resident, Denis Horgan is a veteran journalist and author, well-known to Connecticut readers for his books and 25 years of columns for the Hartford Courant. He has also worked in newspapers around the world and has won a wide variety of journalism awards for his social, political and humorous commentary. His newest book, "The Bangkok World," is a memoir of his fascinating days as an Army officer during the war in Southeast Asia and as editor of the English-language newspaper of that name in Thailand. His earlier books include: "Ninety-Eight Point Six ... and other stories," "The Dawn of Days," and "Flotsam: A Life in Debris." Horgan will have books on hand for sale and signing.
