MANCHESTER - The East Side Neighborhood Resource Center at 153 Spruce St., will transform into a vibrant pop-up art gallery this summer for an event series known as First Sundays at 4. The goal is to foster a stronger presence of arts and cultural opportunities within the community while showcasing local artists. Additionally, the event acts as a fundraiser for the non-profit East Side Livable Neighborhood Group. The group's mission is to make Manchester's east side neighborhood a better place to live through the promotion of community events, artistic projects and social gatherings. The second event in the series will be on Sunday, July 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. The art show will feature an illustrated walkthrough story book created by up-and-coming animator Meghan Williams. A student at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Williams’ work has been displayed at the University of Hartford, the Art Center on the Tolland Green and the Connecticut Scholastic Art Award show. Cafe-style refreshments will be sold at the event and live music courtesy of Summit Studios will also be featured. There is no cost to attend.
