Bus route changed

ENFIELD - Due to the town of Enfield 4th of July Celebration road closure of a portion of North Main St., the Magic Carpet fixed bus route will be changed from Wednesday, July 3, through Monday, July 8. Both the blue (clockwise) route and the yellow (counter-clockwise) route will connect to Pearl St. via High St., instead of North Main St. The following stops will be closed: blue (clockwise) route: N Main/Church, N Main/Lincoln, Town Hall; yellow (counter-clockwise) route: Elm/Summer, Town Hall, N Main/Lincoln, N Main/Church. In addition, two temporary buses will be added for the duration of the route changes: blue (clockwise ) route: corner of Enfield St. and Enfield Ave.; and yellow (counter-clockwise) route: Enfield St. Whole Donut parking lot. The Magic Carpet bus service will be closed on July 4, in observance of Independence Day, and will be free to all riders during the 4th of July Celebration on Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6. Magic Carpet does not operate on Sundays. The Enfield Magic Carpet fixed route bus service operates from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturdays. The fixed route bus service includes stops at the Enfield Square, Elm Plaza, Enfield Town Hall, Enfield Senior Center, Community Health Resources, Asnuntuck Community College and Brookside Plaza, as well as Pearl and High Streets and North Maple and Hazard Ave. Visit for the map of the full route and all stops or call 860-272-3545 with questions.
