SOUTH WINDSOR - The following programs will be held at South Windsor Public Library. On Wednesday, July 1, at 10 a.m., come to Lego Construction. Use the bricks at the library or bring your own. Show your best construction ever. No registration is necessary. For ages 5 and up. On Tuesday, July 9, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., come to Big Trucks! Everyone is invited to visit the library/church parking lot to see the trucks used for construction in South Windsor. Sit in the seat, touch the tires, or beep the horn. No registration is necessary. Having Fun with Dinosaurs and Fossils, presented by Paulette Morin, will be held on Thursday July 16, at 10:30 a.m. Registration is necessary and begins on July 1 for this exciting hands-on program. There will be storytelling and fossil specimens to inspire young scientists. For ages 5 and up. Pirates and Buried Treasure: on July 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., volunteers will be stationed around the room to help younger children make a pirate hat, an eye patch, learn how to speak like a pirate and find some buried treasure. All ages are welcome; no registration is necessary. Clay Figures: Children ages 8 and up are invited to join Philip Thomas as he explains and shows you how to make some of your favorite characters or objects out of clay. Thomas will share some of his sculpting techniques and enthusiasm as you work on your favorite characters. Registration is necessary and begins on July 1. This program will be held on Wednesdays, July 17, 24 and 31 at 2 p.m. Burrow Into a Bedtime Story will be held on Mondays, July 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug. 5 and 12 at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to bring their children to this evening story time Enjoy a half-hour of stories and more reflecting the theme of the week.
