Foundation president selected

MANCHESTER - Richard J. Trachimowicz, of Princeton, Mass., was elected president of the Manchester Community College Foundation board of directors. Richard J. Trachimowicz is currently executive vice president at Rockville Bank and president of the Rockville Bank Foundation. He joined the bank in May 1996 and served in serveral capicities until April 2010, when Trachimowicz was promoted to his current position. Prior to 1996, Trachimowicz served as manager of Sales and Customer Service for Northeast Savings, in Hartford. Trachimowicz has served on the Manchester Community College Foundation board of directors since 2010. The following board members were also elected as officers: Gene S. Mazur, of Manchester, vice president; Michael B. Lynch, Jr., of Manchester, treasurer; and Elizabeth W. Benavides, of Manchester, secretary. Gene S. Mazur is the Foundation’s immediate past president, having led the Foundation for nine years. The Manchester Community College Foundation is a private, nonprofit, 501(c) (3) Connecticut corporation. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors, composed of business and community leaders who assist the college in securing funding for programmatic, scholarship and equipment needs.
