WILLIMANTIC- Author Michele Palmer will sign copies of her new book, "American Toile: Four Centuries of Sensational Scenic Fabrics and Wallpaper" (Schiffer, $34.99) at the Windham Textile & History Museum, Sunday, July 21 at 2:30-4 p.m. The book contains over 180 color photos of antique, vintage, and contemporary fabrics and wallpaper which depict the historic events and everyday moments of American life. Themes include the colonial period, the new republic, the Civil War, the West, farm and city life, maritime and leisure activities, and patriotic symbols. Palmer grew up playing with fabrics and sample books from her father's textile business.
