Sea songs and stories

The Douglas Library Children's Department invites you to the community room on Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. for "Sea Songs and Stories" with Rick Spencer. Mr. Spencer will present a family-oriented program of music and stories from the English-speaking maritime world during the period from the 1790s to the 1930s. the program gives insight into the lives of deep-water sailors, fishermen, whalers and others who made their living at sea. The program is free and open to the public. Suggested audience interest is age 7 to adult. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Call 869-228-9312 for more information.
