Farmers Market nutrition program

ENFIELD - The Town of Enfield Neighborhood Services Division will be participating in the state of Connecticut’s Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. Neighborhood Services has a limited supply of Farmers Market vouchers for eligible Enfield residents. Eligible residents may be able to receive $18 worth of Farmers’ Market vouchers that can be used at approved Farmers’ Markets within the state through October 31, 2013. According to state guidelines, participants must be 60 or older, or permanently disabled, and living in a subsidized senior complex. Additionally, participants must have an annual household income of not more than $21,257 for a single person or $28,694 for a couple. Neighborhood Services has a responsibility to verify income for this program. If you have not participated in a recent program such as energy assistance or renters rebate, please be prepared to provide proof of your recent household income. Vouchers will be distributed Neighborhood Services during regular business hours. Additionally, dates will be scheduled for distribution at local senior housing sites.
