POMFRET CENTER- The Connecticut Audubon Society, 218 Day Road in Pomfret Center, offers field trips and in-class programs for elementary and middle school classes. Aligned with the Connecticut science standards, the programs pack four hours of hands-on activities in the 700-acre sanctuary Birding 101, The Dirt on Soils, Fall Follies, Watershed Study, Nature Journaling, and Photography at Trail Wood are to name but a few.
