Summer reading program

TOLLAND - This year’s Summer Reading Program at Tolland Public Library for children entering grades K to 9 features something new: online registration and book logs. Tolland Public Library has enrolled in Evanced SummerReader, a program being offered free to public libraries through the Connecticut State Library. Key features include online patron registration, reading and progress logging, prize management and distribution, drawings and mediated reviews. And it’s not too late to sign up. Readers may register online anytime at http://ct.evanced.info/tolland/sr/homepage.asp. The reading program runs through Aug. 31. Those participating earn prizes including tickets to see the New Britain Rock Cats and The Sun. In the fall, summer reading statistics will be sent to Tolland schools. All those enrolled are also eligible for free scholarship money through CHET (more information is available in the library and at aboutchet.com/library.
