TOLLAND - The following children’s and young adult August programs will be held at Tolland Public Library: Summer Reading Party: This summer’s reading program, Dig Into Reading, continues through Aug. 31. Parents and children are encouraged to keep logging in all their reading. Ginny Brousseau, the children's librarian, will send the schools each child’s reading statistics at the beginning of the school year. All those enrolled in Summer Reading are invited to the Summer Reading Party on Friday, Aug. 23, from 1:30 – 2: 30 p.m. Come and rock out with Tolland’s own Mr. Gym, Chris Keithan. Please call the library to sign up for Mr. Gym’s show. Refreshments will follow the show. The last Read Dog Day for the summer will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 1:30 p.m. Teams of dogs and handlers will be available for children to practice their read-aloud skills. Get a reading tune-up and sign up for a 15-minute block of time with a dog. For grades one and up. A young adult book discussion will be held on Chris Paolini’s, "Eragon," on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. Call the library to sign up and reserve a copy of the book; copies are available at the desk.
