Sterling - posted Aug, 07 2013

STERLING- The Sterling public library is sponsoring a free farm tour to three Sterling farms, on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Meet at the Sterling library at 9:30 a.m. Transportation is on a school bus. You will visit a sawmill, alpacas, and horses! Sign up is necessary; you just need to bring a sandwich. First stop will be Jordan’s Sawmill, on Saw Mill Hill Road in North Sterling. It should be a fun and educational tour! It's on to Pine Hill Alpacas, a family owned and operated alpaca farm. Learn what can be done with their fleece. Next is the Ekonk Grange. Bring your own sandwich, but, the Grange will provide chips, drinks and desserts. There are bathrooms that will be available, as well. We’ll finish up our farm tour back up in North Sterling at Windham Hill Farm, on Gibson Hill Road. Windham Hill Farm is a boarding, training, and instructional facility, with 15 stalls. We’ll see a variety of ages and breeds of horses. Sign up is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Stop in at the library or call 564-2692.
