Youth savings club

KILLINGLY- The Access Community Action Agency has started a Youth Savings Club for local high school students of Killingly. The Youth Savings Club was developed to help students earn money for expenses related to their education including sports activities, laptops or school dues. Students can earn $100 and is open to all seniors and juniors in Killingly area schools. To be eligible students and their parents must attend one Orientation/Dinner Meeting and Life Skills Class. Students must complete a one hour life skills class and four community service projects to earn $100 toward their chosen expense. Students will perform projects together. An Orientation/Dinner Meeting and Life Skills Class will be held on Friday Sept. 6, from 5-7:30 p.m. at The Cornerstone Baptist Church basement in Danielson located on 227 Broad Street. The program will be as follows: * 5-6 p.m. Dinner/Orientation (Parents must attend this orientation); * 6-7:30 p.m.: Life skills/Brainstorming on Service Projects (Youth only) If you or anyone you know would like to participate, please contact: Cathy at 860-412-1600 ext. 1646; cathy.whitehead@accessagency.org.
