Celebrate the Man of Steel

Visit the Enfield Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m., for "Superman-American Hero: Celebrating 75 Years with the Man of Steel," hosted by Steve Kanaras, comics publisher and historian. Action Comics #1, released in 1938, brought the country and the world its first superhero! The Last Son of Krypton, Superman has remained a staple of pop culture ever since. Through lecture and slideshow, Steve Kanaras will trace the many evolutions of America’s Greatest Hero and will recount the fascinating history of both the character and the numerous diverse hands involved in creating his adventures. Happy 75th Anniversary, Superman! Steve Kanaras is the owner of Free Lunch Studios, and a writer and teacher of comics and graphic novels.
