Roots of Rock and Roll

GLASTONBURY- Come to the Welles-Turner Memorial Library for a rocking fun-filled evening with long time performer, Brian Gillie, as he sings and dances his way through rock ‘n’ roll history. The program will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Welles-Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main St., Glastonbury. Refreshments will be available. Unlike any history lesson you will ever see or hear, Gillie sings and dances his way through this one-hour retro-groove. Hear the glorious and outrageous sounds of rock ‘n’ roll from 1950 – 1965. It’s the real deal with tunes from doo-wop, Motown, girl groups, surfin’, soul music, novelty songs and more. It’s a bandstand performance that will convert the Welles-Turner Library into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame for one night. Come on down to shake, rattle and roll.
