SUFFIELD - Celebrate the town of Suffield with Suffield on the Green, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Suffield on the Green is Suffield’s biggest event, bringing together many groups and interests. The event is split into two major portions: the Civic Event and the annual Crafts Fair. The Civic Event takes place on the town green and features booths representing a number of social groups from the town, including school groups, church groups, scout units, local sports teams, day cares, local businesses and emergency services. The annual Crafts Fair at Connecticut Landmarks’ Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden, features more than 50 artists and crafters with booths throughout the grounds and in the Hathaway barn. Admission to the fair is $1. The event will occur rain or shine. Regular admission applies for house tours, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Phelps-Hatheway attic on Saturday, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., which showcases a unique variety of 18th- 19th- and early 20th-century objects and collections.
