Milling and Resurfacing along Route 74

REGION - The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 74 in South Windsor and Ellington, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.23-mile segment of Route 74 in South Windsor and Ellington. This project is scheduled to occur Aug. 20 to Sept. 16.  Lane closure information: Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 74 between Route 194 (Sullivan Ave.) in South Windsor and Route 286 (Pinney St.) in Ellington. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
