ENFIELD- The Enfield Pirate Festival is set to begin at 11a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31. The special event, a fundraiser for Kids First of Enfield, will host a weekend of singing pirates, games of skill, magic, cannon demonstrations, sword fights, music, and more. The Connecticut Renaissance Faire produces the event in partnership with Kids First. Kids First of Enfield is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created to target specific community projects. Kids First is finishing renovations to the Angelo Lamagna Center’s kitchen where they will offer health and nutritional programs for Enfield’s youth. In addition, Kids First hosts conflict resolution basketball where teens learn to interact with others through sports. www.kidsfirstenfield.com. The Enfield Pirate Festival runs Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 through Sept. 1 from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Enfield Green, 820 Enfield Street in Enfield.
