WINDSOR - The latest crop of First Town Downtown Heritage Bricks will be installed into the brick patio on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. The brick patio is located on the Windsor Town Green across from Central Street. All bricks purchased or gifted over the last several months, including those commemorating First Town Downtown and Windsor Chamber of Commerce 2013 award winners, Ray Embury, Michael Deneen and Mary Beth Welsh, will be brought together and laid into the brick patio for future generations to enjoy. Newly-installed bricks will include Michael J. Sponzo, Dave and Ruth Gillette, Residence Inn and Joseph and Betty Mancarella. The first First Town Downtown Heritage brick installation was in May of 1996. Walk down Broad Street and view the brick patio. The public is invited to attend the ceremony to watch the bricks be put into place. Bricks are available for purchase to honor people and businesses. Inscriptions have included names, anniversaries, birth dates, memorials and more. Heritage bricks are available for purchase from the First Town Downtown website for $50 each and include three lines of text, up to 20 characters per line.
