Historic barns

MANCHESTER - The Manchester Historical Society is presenting, Historic Barns, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Woodbridge Farmstead, Manchester Green, 495 East Middle Tpke., east of the intersection of the Turnpike and Woodbridge St. Some parking is available along the turnpike and in the back of the Woodbridge property, off Lawton Road; the gate will be open. Find out more about the barns of Manchester and the photo project undertaken by the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation to save images of these disappearing structures. After the tour, talk and some light refreshments, participants can drive to an unusual barn-full of ancient wood and modern craftsmanship.
