Poetry for Peace

ENFIELD- Exactly a year after 9/11, Asnuntuck held its first Candlelight Vigil for Peace on Sept. 11, 2002. The vigil was followed by a Poetry for Peace Coffee House with Asnuntuck faculty, staff, and students reading poems on the theme of peace, and harp music by Polly Parker. Since 2002, Asnuntuck has held a Poetry for Peace Coffee House in September, commemorating 9/11. This year, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 6-9 p.m., the Poetry for Peace reading will begin in the Coffee House in Café II with readings of poetry about peace by Asnuntuck faculty, staff, students and the public. Poems about peace will be provided or participants can bring their own. The event is sponsored by Freshwater is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served during the Coffee House.
