"Prince Among Slaves"

MANCHESTER - "Prince Among Slaves," an hour-long documentary based on the Terry Alford book, will be shown at the Manchester Public Library, 586 Main St., on Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. Watch the extraordinary life story of Abdul Rahman Ibrahima, an African warrior and nobleman. Ibrahima was sold into the Mississippi slave trade where he toiled for 40 years before being released and repatriated to Africa. This program is presented as part of the ALA/NEH Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys grant. The free program is open to the public; registration is not required.
