WINDSOR - The following programs will be held at the Windsor Public Library: On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., Eat Better, Feel better, Live Better, will be presented with nutritionist Maribeth Abrams. Abrams, MS is a nutritional consultant, certiﬁed holistic health practitioner, certiﬁed lifestyle educator, certiﬁed plant-based nutritionist and author. Known for her upbeat demeanor and ability to convey nutrition concepts in a clear and easily-understandable manner, she is frequently invited to present at regional and national health conferences. Abrams hosts a cooking DVD with former Olympic athlete Carl Lewis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The free presentation runs from 7 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., meet author Dr. Gina Barreca, of "It’s Not That I’m Bitter: How I Learned to Stop Worrying About Visible Panty Lines and Conquered the World." Barreca has appeared on various television talk shows to discuss gender, power, politics and humor. Her earlier books include the bestselling, "They Used to Call Me Snow White But I Drifted: Women’s Strategic Use of Humor," "Babes in Boyland A Personal History of Coeducation in the Ivy League," and six other books she’s written in addition to 16 she’s edited.
