Family Day celebration

NORWICH- On Sept. 15, the Children First Norwich (CFN), is a citywide collaborative whose mission is “to improve life outcomes for children,” and Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Chelsea Groton Bank, Eastern Federal Bank, and Norwich Public Utilities is hosting a Family Day celebration at Mohegan Park fountain area. The day will begin at 11 a.m. with the Harry “O” Youth race; registration for this event is at 10:30 a.m. For more information regarding the Harry “O” race, please contact the Norwich Recreation Department at 860-823-3791 Music by Hey “Mr. DJ” (Ralph Watson) will be played throughout the day. Curious Creatures with many animals to see and touch there will also be Face painting, and much more. Hot dogs, potato chips, and water will cost $3 this year. The Young Marines Youth Group will be selling food as a fundraiser. Various public and private agencies as well as local businesses will be hosting booths to discuss their services and offer fun family activities. This event is sponsored by Children First Norwich/School Readiness Council, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, Chelsea Groton Bank, Eastern Federal Bank, Norwich Human Services, Norwich Public Utilities and Norwich Youth and Family Services.
