Volunteers needed for after school

ENFIELD - Volunteers are needed to assist students in academic, enrichment and recreational after-school activities at Educational Resources for Children (ERfC) School-age Centers located in Enfield schools. Volunteers help children with homework and participate in activities including arts and crafts, science, sports and games, literacy, and math. Volunteers with special skills or talents may also have an opportunity to lead a special club with the assistance of ERfC staff. ERfC School-age Care Centers, for grades kindergarten through five, are located at Eli Whitney, Hazardville Memorial, Enfield Street and Henry Barnard elementary schools, and operate Monday through Friday, from 3 to 6 p.m. JFK After School, located at JFK Middle School, is open for students in grades six through eight, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 16-years-old and must complete an interview, training and agree to a background check. Volunteers must also be able to commit to a schedule based on their availability. All ERfC School-Age Centers are licensed by the state of Connecticut.
