WINDSOR - Windsor Recreation Department is offering the following new recreation programs. Mix it Up with Coach Kyle for ages 5 through 8-year-olds begins on Saturday, Sept. 21 and continues every Saturday through Oct. 26. The program is held from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., at the Community Center at 330 Windsor Ave. This is an exciting, interactive program for 5 - 7 year olds and is filled with a variety of games, sports and activities. Participants will work with Coach Kyle in a fun, supportive environment while they Mix it Up with activities like basketball, soccer, kickball, tag games, gym games and adventure team building activities. Cost is $55. Functional Fitness is held from 7 to 8 p.m., at LP Wilson Community Center. Functional Fitness is a circuit-based workout routine where the movements and exercises are derived from the natural motion or stability of the body's joints and muscle groups. The workout aims to increase overall fitness; including endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, balance, and muscle definition. An advantage of the program is that each workout is adaptable to any fitness level and each exercise has multiple modifications. Runs Sept. 12 through Oct. 17. Cost is $55.00 per session. Dog Training: Let well-know dog trainer Laurie Fass help you bring out the very best in your family pet at Dog Training Class Level 1. Classes began on Sept. 15 and will end on Oct. 20. Classes are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at LP Wilson Community Center. Activities will include leash manners, sit, stay, boundary training, heel, come, drop it and more. Learn how to communicate in way that makes sense to your dog. Group classes are not appropriate for dogs with aggression issues. Cost is $90 for Windsor residents; $100 for non-residents.
