KidZ Sports Challenge

ENFIELD- Enfield kids in grades K-5 are invited to participate in the first ERfC KidZ Sports Challenge on Friday, Sept. 27 at Henry Barnard School from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The event is free of charge for all kids who would like to participate. Each participant will take their score sheet home at the end of the event. The highest scores on each team will also receive award ribbons. All participants will receive medals commemorating the event. The KidZ Sports Challenge will kick-off ERfC’s 2013-2014 KidZ Sports season. KidZ Sports offers kids in grades K-5, of all skill levels, an opportunity to participate in organized sports directly after school. New this year, KidZ Sports will extend the program an additional 30 minutes to include a fitness and health component. Children participating in the KidZ Sports Challenge do not need to be enrolled in KidZ Sports or any ERfC School-Age Center to participate. This challenge is open to any K-5 student in Enfield free of charge. Pre-registration is required to participate. Parents must attend the event with their children. No children can participate without an adult present with them. Parents can register their child for the event by calling the ERfC administrative office at 860-253-9935, or go to the ERfC website at www.erfc.us and click on “KidZ Sports Challenge Registration.” Check-in for the KidZ Sports Challenge will begin at 4 p.m. in the Barnard School gym. Students will participate in warm-up and practice drills from 4 through 4:45 p.m., and move to the outdoor field at 5 p.m. for start of the KidZ Sports Challenge. Healthy snacks and bottled water will be provided.
