Living history weekend

WOODSTOCK- Roseland Cottage commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with its ‘Living History Weekend’ on Sept. 28 and 29. Members of the 27th Connecticut Volunteers and Confederate Troops will set up camp and provide demonstrations of military drills and camp life. Family-friendly activities will be the focus of the weekend, with opportunities to participate in an artillery exercise, play period games, build a pontoon bridge, visit the hospital tent, try the Rebel Yell, and more. This program is free to the public. The museum will be open for tours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the encampment. Regular admission fees for tours will apply.
