ASHFORD - Babcock Library and the Ashford Historical Society will present a program on The Old Connecticut Path on Saturday, Oct. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The Old Connecticut Path was followed by the founders of Connecticut and is an important part of the history of Ashford and the American story. The path still exists, but in Ashford it is hidden in plain sight; ready to be rediscovered for its historic importance and natural beauty. Driving tours and walking guides will be shared so people can rediscover the path for themselves. Presenter Jason Newton, retired educator and psychologist, and a direct descendant of Rev. Thomas Hooker, will share his expertise. For more information see Newton’s website at The program is free and open to the public.
