Welcome to pumpkin land

THOMPSON- Pumpkins, harvested straight from the pumpkin patch at Fort Hill Farms, will be transformed into a very unique display for folks of all ages. Fort Hill Farms invites guests from all around Southern New England to experience the imaginative world of 11th Hour Farming Artists’ “Tales in Pumpkinlandia”. Guests will wander along a winding path through a blue spruce forest, illuminated by over 1,000 elaborately carved jack-o-lanterns, as they are taken on a magical journey full of mystery and wonder. The theme focuses on beloved stories, fairy tales, and myths. Pumpkinlandia is a limited-engagement event on the evenings of Thursday, Oct. 10 thru Monday, Oct. 14 (Columbus Day) starting at 5:30 p.m. each night. (Farm is open at 9 a.m. everyday for daytime activities.) Paid admission includes entrance to the six-acre Corn Maze Adventure (bring a flashlight), Mini Moo Labyrinth (need a flashlight for that, too) and the Pumpkinlandia Pumpkin Show. It is the guests’ decision whether they want to participate in the maze(s) and the show, just the show or any combination. The farmers note to keep in mind that Pumpkinlandia could take 30-45 minutes to walk through, the Corn Maze Adventure could take up to 2 hours and the Mini Moo Labyrinth could take 30-40 minutes. So, guests should plan their trips accordingly. Columbus Day Weekend at Fort Hill Farms will also feature tethered hot air balloon rides (courtesy of RE/Max), gem mining, the pumpkin patch and more. Fort Hill Farms set up a special website (forthillfarms.com/pumpkinlandia) to share details on the event, the artists, prices, and many FAQs. For more information: follow the farm on Facebook and Twitter, visit forthillfarms.com/pumpkinlandia or call 860-923-3439. Fort Hill Farms is located at 260 Quaddick Road in Thompson.
