NORWICH- The Norwich Winter Festival Parade Committee held a parade theme contest from mid-August until Sept. 6. The committee received 40 entries and, after a thorough review, chose the winning theme of “Norwich Winterfest in Glorious Color,” submitted by Quaker Hill resident Eileen (Dusio) Button. Eileen’s winning theme prize is $200. She has also decided to participate in the parade which was offered as part of the prize. The Norwich Winter Festival Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, and begins at 1 p.m. at Chelsea Parade. This year, the judges will get to see parade participants in action as judging will not take place until the parade reaches the reviewing stand located at Franklin Square. The Norwich Winter Festival Parade Committee is actively seeking participants for the parade including but not limited to civic groups, schools, bands, military units, family entertainment.
