League of Women Voters sponsor discussion on voting accessibility

WINDSOR - The League of Women Voters of Windsor/North Central will sponsor a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., that will cover the federal and state laws pertaining to the rights of voters with disabilities. This program will be presented by Elanah Sherman, an advocate of the State Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities. The issues that will be discussed during this meeting will include: accessible polling places for voters with disabilities and assistance when voting, accessible voting technology, voting for people who are institutionalized, the rights of individuals who are under guardianship and the use of permanent absentee ballots. The meeting will take place in the Windsor Town Hall Council Chambers, located on the bottom floor of the Windsor Town Hall, 275 Broad Street, Windsor.
