GLASTONBURY - The 39th annual Apple Harvest Festival will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18, 19 and 20, at Welles Street Riverfront Park. The festival has the following hours: pie booth/crafters/vendors/entertainment – Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; amusement rides/food – Friday, 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and festival beer garden – Saturday, noon to 9 p.m., Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. As is tradition, the Apple Harvest Festival will to feature amusement rides, craft and exhibitor booths, food vendors, a family entertainment area, as well as live musical entertainment. Returning to the festival this year will be a beer garden featuring Connecticut craft beers, as well as wine from Priam Vineyards in Colchester. All beers and wines will be $5. Proper ID is required to gain access into the garden. There will be entertainment, a Kid’z Zone, a pie eating contest, Apple Get Your Jam on contest, and road races. You can pre-registration for the road race at or you may also pre-register at the pie booth at the festival on Saturday. Admission to the festival is $5 per person with a family maximum of $20. Children under 3-feet-tall will be admitted for free. Amusement ride tickets will be available for sale at the festival and discount coupons for rides are available at area businesses and at the Chamber office. Free parking and shuttle bus service from 180 & 200 Glastonbury Blvd. (adjacent to The Shops at Somerset Square) to the festival grounds and back will be available approximately every ten minutes. Handicapped parking will be available at the Riverfront Community Center. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the shuttle buses or on the festival grounds.
