PUTNAM- The Putnam High School music department will host the 14th annual Clipper Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. The doors open at noon, and will be held rain or shine, at the St. Marie Greenhalgh Sports Complex on Wicker Street. The Clipper Invitational is one of the oldest marching band competitions in Northeast Connecticut. This year's Invitational will feature six neighboring marching bands from Killingly, Putnam, Norwich, Groton and East Lyme and South Hadley, Mass. The music and routines are sure to enchant and delight audience members of all ages! Each band performs an array of music, marching, color guard routine and more - a visual spectacular! There will be an admission charge of $10 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens. Come out and support your local high school marching bands.
